Albumleaf 166: April 2, 2020 (Bologna)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

TEN YEARS AGO today, I posted my first Albumleaf<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The original goal was to write three \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcleaves every two weeks.\u00c2\u00a0 I came close in 2010, but shortly thereafter production slowed due to parenting and other musical projects. \u00c2\u00a0From 2014, there\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s only a single ‘leaf<\/a>; in 2016, there were none.\u00c2\u00a0 In 2018, I decided I had just time enough to get to number 200 by the tenth anniversary, and I sped up composition.\u00c2\u00a0 But soon performance opportunities and The Shepheardes Calender<\/a><\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u201despecially the composition of the second (non-Albumleaf) part\u00e2\u20ac\u201dintervened, and here I am at 166, well short of 200. \u00c2\u00a0Still, the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcleaves do average out to more than one per month, and I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m content with that.\u00c2\u00a0 (And considering that there are two two-part Albumleaves, numbers 81<\/a> and 127<\/a>, maybe we can call it 168, no?)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reader, you can imagine what the site\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s traffic has been\nlike.   But Albumleaves has been very useful\nnonetheless and has led\u00e2\u20ac\u201dand continues to lead\u00e2\u20ac\u201dto other musical\nopportunities.  The project still\ninterests me, and I have no plans to stop. \nIf I were more tech-savvy, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d embark on a thorough redesign.  I have a huge artsy idea for that.  But I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not there yet.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, here you are.  \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Battuta dalla Quarantena\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Joke from the\nQuarantine\u00e2\u20ac\u009d).  It hardly marks the\noccasion in grand style.  But I get a\nkick out of it, and it harkens back to the days when the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcleaves were shorter,\nless formal, and fell more frequently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
